Amazon is launching a drone delivery service in the U.S. with the goal of boosting the company’s reputation for transparency.
The drone service is called Shaws and it will be available in three regions: California, New York and New Jersey.
The service is launching today in the New York area and will operate in California by the end of the year.
Shaws is launching in five cities in the United States, and it is expected to launch in more cities in 2017.

The New York Times reports that the company is partnering with Uber and is aiming to get 10% of all rides to be from drones by the start of 2020.

Shazams drones will operate from Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle, Wash., and are expected to be able to deliver packages to customers as soon as next year.
The Shaws drone will be able deliver packages in 20 to 30 minutes, according to the company.
Shays drone will also have a built-in GPS, allowing it to stay in the air for up to 20 minutes, and will feature two cameras for video surveillance.
Shaw delivery service is also expected to come in cheaper than Uber’s drones.
Amazon said in a statement that its drones will not have a price tag of more than $500,000.
Shops that are interested in ordering drones from Shaws can get them for free from Amazon.com, or from other sellers on the Shaws site.
